This aircraft represents a Dewoitine D-520 which bears
the first markings imposed by the Germans during June 1941. The roundel was
surrounded by white and a white stripe was painted from tail to engine. The
nose was yellow from the spinner to the wings and the tail was also yellow.

This aircraft represents the last D-520 to fly, until a
tragic accident in 1986 destroyed it and killed the pilot. This skin is in
memory of the last man to pilot this superb fighter. As of 2001, there were
only three surviving D-520s. Two are conserved at the Musée de l'Air et
de l'Espace in Le Bourget near Paris. A third is stored in a hangar at
Rochefort airbase. All of these aircraft belong to private collections or to
museums and are not available for public viewing. We can only hope that one day
we will see a D-520 in the air again.
The skin was created by Nico, based on the original 3DZ model of Capitan Manduca and Alatriste.
