(Prov) FG.

This aircraft represents the Curtiss P40B of the 1st
Squadron AVG, flown by Charles R. Bond Jr, credited of eight aerial victories
against the japanese. He destroyed a great many of his victims in the same
mission. Earlier in early war, his plane's nose was painted brown, but later,
it had be repainted in green.

This aircraft represents a Curtiss P-40E, early series,
unknowed pilot and unit. The Flying Tigers recieved six of these planes, taken
from Army reserves in March 1942, just before they were included in USAAC in
July. Only a few mechanics and five pilots joined the new Tigers, the others
went back to the civil life or in their original squadrons.

This aircraft represents the Curtiss Hawk H-81-A2
(P-40B) from the 3rd Pursuit Group flown by Chuck Older.This aircraft is one of
the most famous planes of the AVG. Chuck Older scored 10 victories against the
japanese and was one of the pilots of the AVG who destroyed a Ki-46 Dinah in
March 1942.

This aircraft represents the Curtiss P-40E of the 23rd
Fighter Group, flown by Colonel Robert Lee Scott on his last mission with the
Flying Tigers (AVG). Lee went on to score 10 kills flying with the 23rd Fighter
Group.

This aircraft represents the Curtiss P40B (H-81-A2)
Warhawk, flown by Gregory Boyington at the end of his tour in China with the
AVG. This aircraft operated with the 1st Pursuit Squadron, as the white stripe
shows. H-81-A2 was the designation for the Warhawks of the AVG, which were
modified British Tomahawk Mk.1 aircraft. Greg Boyington scored two kills
against the Japanese flying this aircraft, which bears his personal marking of
a green apple, on the left side of the fuselage, and the number painted in
grey. He later scored a further 22 kills flying with VMF-122 and 124, before
becoming a prisoner of war on 3/January/1944.

This aircraft represents the Curtiss P-40B Warhawk of
the Air Volunteer Group flown by David Lee "Tex" Hill. Tex Hill was the second
ranking ace of the AVG at the end of their tour in June 1942. He was one of the
five pilots who accepted to join the USAAF in July 1942, and then, he led the
75th FS. In his second tour in China, he led the 23rd FG and he finished his
career as a general of the Texas Air National Guard. He is credited with 9
kills flying with the AVG and a further 6 flying with the 23rd Fighter
Group.
