The year 1943 had been disasterous for Germany on all fronts. Everyone in the High Command knew that an invasion on the Western Front was coming. The build up of men and equipment in Great Britain could only mean one thing. Invasion on Hitlers Atlantic Wall. The only thing that the Allies had little knowledge of was the that under 1943 Adolf Galland, now much in favour with Hitler had been given charge of pressing forward the jet program at all costs. This was a result of Hitler having less and less faith in Goring and his promises. As a result of the intense development plus men materials under 1943, and early 44, certain jet aircraft were now ready to surprise the Allies. But unknown to German intelligence the Allies acting on the information that had been gathered from agents in occupied Europe, had given them reasons to press forward development on jet aircraft and other models, so that they would ready for such an eventuality.

This is the history behind the What if campaign, when the Invasion came Germany replied with the Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe the Allies with the Secret Weapons of the Allies.
