FOKKER DXXI |
|
This model depicts a Fokker DXXI of the Spanish Civil
War, Version 1.0 A modern, fixed-undercarriage monoplane fighter that was still
in service with the French and Dutch airforces in 1940. In Spain production
began under license by the Republicans in 1937, utilising the same Russian M 25
engine used in the Polikarpov I-16, but the factory was overrun before most of
the 25-50 planes on the assembly lines could be finished. However A pattern
example was flown in Spain, and a second is reported to have flown with a
Soviet M25 engine. The colour scheme is based on that of the pattern aicraft.

FIAT G-50 |
|
This model depicts a Fiat G.50 'Freccia' of the XXIII
Grupo de Caza, Aviacion Legionaria, Spanish Civil War. Between 12 and 40 of
this type flew with the Aviacion Legionaria during the later stages of the war.
The first flight took place in March 1939, the G.50 being sent to Spain to
demonstrate Italian technology, as a counterpoint ot the Bf109. In the last two
weeks of the war, 3 G.50s crashed due to manufacturing faults.
This
aircraft was created by SteveT, based on
Captain Kurt's 3DZ and the work of
Claudio Wilches for the cockpit and
Patrick Grand-Chavin for the original skin.
