This model depicts a Hurricane IIb, SA-F Z5220,
486(NZ)Squadron, March to October 1942, regular plane of S/L Ian Waddy, DFC
from Seddon, NZ. On 16/8/42 the undercarriage collapsed while taking off from
Matlaske. The plane was repaired on Site and later passed to 247 Squadron. S/L
Waddy, the Squadron's C/O from 25th 1943 to 7th January 1944 (when he left the
squadron) was taken prisoner on 25/8/44. The skin was created by Stanley99, based on the original by Flying Sheep. Incorporated in this aircraft are the
3DZ modifications and spinner of Ghostboy,
the cockpit gauges by Migge and the clear
glass gunsight by Dan Shaw. (HURR

This model depicts a Hurricane Mk IIb, SA-K, serial
Z5309, of No.486 (NZ) Squadron RAF, Kirton-in-Lindsay, 15/3/42 to 27/5/42.
Based on a photograph taken by F/L Harvey Sweetman, then Flight Commander of
'B' Flight. But by March the squadron was just being formed. It became operable
the next month as night-fighter squadron, and by then most of the Hurricanes
were painted black. The skin was created by Stanley99, based on the original by Flying Sheep. Incorporated in this aircraft are the
3DZ modifications and spinner of Ghostboy,
the cockpit gauges by Migge, the pilot by
Mosi and the clear glass gunsight by
