CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51D Version: This P51D is from the 375th FS, 361st FG of the Eight AAF, around June, 1944. This AC was briefly flown by 1st Lt. Urban Drew, third ranking Ace of the group. Lt . Drew's normal aircraft was a P51D named "Detroit Miss". This aircraft has been hastily camoflaged with olive drab paint in anticipation of being deployed to a forward field in France after D Day. This aircraft was lost on August 9, 1944, in a crash that took the life of it's pilot, Lt. Don Dellinger.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51D Version: This P51D represents the mount of 1st Lt. Urban Drew, "Detroit Miss", 375FS, 361 FG, during October 1944. 1/Lt. Drew scored six air to air victories and one straffing kill in his single tour of duty, which included two Me262s downed in a single mission. This feat earned him a much belated Distinguished Service Cross, awarded on 12 May 1983.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51B Version: This represents the P51B Mustang,"Old Crow", of Capt.Clarence "Bud" Anderson, 357th FG, 363FS, during June, 1944. The B was the preferred P51 version of Capt. Anderson and the one in which the majority of his victories were achieved. Capt. Anderson finished the war as a triple Ace with 16.25 kills.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51B Version: This represents the mount of 1/Lt. William B. Overstreet, "Berlin Express", 363 FS, 357 FG, 8th AAF, based at Leiston, England, during June 1944. Lt. Overstreet flew in Capt. Bud Anderson's flight and often flew as his Wingman. He survived the war with two planes to his credit.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51B Version: This represents the P51B mount of Capt. Ralph Hamilton, 487FS, 352FG, based at Bodney, during June 1944. Capt. Hamilton was not pleased when invasion stripes were applied to his P51B. He stormed around the dispersal demanding to know who had vandalized his formerly pristine "Francis B Too". Ironically, this aircraft was flown on D-Day by George Preddy. Capt. Hamilton was credited with 4 air to air victories and 1 ground.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51B Version: This represents the P51B mount of Lt. Francis Horne, "Snoot's Sniper", 352FG, 328FS, during the summer of 1944. His machine's nickname was misspelled as it was suppose to be Snoot's Snipper. S/Sgt. Art Snyder was the crew chief and also doubled as the 328FS barber. Note the barber pole on the righthand side. This Mustang was long lived, accumulating over 300 hours of combat and was still at Bodney come VE Day. Lt. Horne was credited with 5.5 air to air victories and 1 on the ground.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51D Version: This represents the P51D Mustang,"Frenesi", of Lt. Col. Thomas L. Hayes, O.C. of 364FS, Deputy Commander of the 357 FG, during June, 1944. Lt. Col. Hayes named his aircraft after a popular song of the day, short for "Fren es See". He was the only pilot known of the 357 FG to fly a D model on D Day. He flew 85 combat missions and scored 8.5 victories by the end of the war, including two Japanese aircraft claimed while flying P40s in Java, 1942.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51D Version: This represents the P51D Mustang,"Hurry Home Honey", of Capt. Richard Peterson, 357th FG, 364FS, during October, 1944. All Capt. Peterson's P51s were christened with this sobriquet, inspired by the way his wife concluded her letters to him. Capt. Peterson is credited with 15.5 aircraft, making him the fourth highest scorer of the 357th FG.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51D Version: This represents the P51D Mustang, the un-named "Winged Ace of Clubs", of Capt. Don Bochkay, 357th FG, 363FS, during mid to late summer, 1944. Capt. Bochkay was the sixth highest ranking ace of the 357th FG, with 13.75 aircraft to his credit. His first aircraft, a P51B, was named "Speedball Alice". His last three aircraft, all P51Ds, were un-named, but continued with the winged ace of clubs emblem. Capt. Bochkay's last victory was scored on April 18, 1945, against a Me262.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD HR P51D Version: This represents the P51D Mustang, "Big Beautiful Doll", of Colonel John Landers, O.C. 78th FG, during May 1945. Col. Landers was one of a handful of pilots who scored victories in both the Pacific and European theaters. "Big Beautiful Doll" was the sobriquet applied to a series of P38 Lightnings and P51 Mustangs, flown by Col. Landers. He is credited with the destruction of 14.5 aircraft in air to air combat, with a further 20 aircraft destroyed on the ground.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD This represents the P51D mount of Major George Preddy, "Cripes A' Mighty 3rd", 352FG, 487FS, during late 1944, just prior to Maj. Preddy assuming command of the 328FS. Maj. Preddy was the top scoring P51 pilot of WWII, with a total of 26.83 kills, 23.83 made in the Mustang. Maj. Preddy lost his life due to friendly fire, when he was hit by an American Quad .50 caliber A-A, at low level and crashed into the ground, on Christmas Day, 1944.
