This aircraft represents a Lockheed P-38F Lightning of
the 94th "Hat in the Ring" Fighter Squadron. The 94th FS moved from the United
Kingdom to Youk-les-Bains, Algeria on 14 November 1942, after the start of
Operation Torch on 8 November 1942. This camouflage scheme and fuselage
cockades represents the 94th shortly after the journey from England. The Hat in
the Ring emblem wasn't applied frequently and no other fuselage markings were
applied, due to the exagerrated mirror effect on the P-38.
This
aircraft skin was created by SagginB, based
on an original by Airbuddha. The aircraft
3DZ model was created by Captain Kurt based
on initial work carried out by Col. Gibbon.
Additional work, including the non-mirrored coding and shadow file were by
Col. Gibbon. Utilities used during the
construction of the 3DZ model were the 3DZ Studio and 3DZ converter tools by
Alessandro Borges. The readme file gives
details of this skin and credits those involved in it's creation. (P-38H slot) |
