Royal Bulgarian Air Force during 1941-42. This particular aircraft shot down
one Consolidated B-24 Liberator over Ploesti, 1944. The Avia Av.135 was a
Czechoslovakian monoplane fighter and was a development of the Avia B.35 but
with retractable landing gear. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia by
Germany in 1938 and 1939, development and production continued under German
control, and the aircraft was built for Bulgaria and used as trainers.
