CLICK TO DOWNLOAD This model depicts a Messerschmitt Me.410A-2 of the 9/ZG1, Germany, 1944. This aircraft had served with ZG1 when they operated against the allies from Gerbini, Sicily. In early 1944 they were recalled to Germany for anti-bomber duties against the American "Heavies". The Me 410 scored some notable successes on occasion, but fared badly against escorted bombers and the surviving crews were eventually assigned to other units, most re-training to fly single-seat fighters. The white fuselage band is most likely a leftover from the unit's time in the Mediterranean rather than a "Reich Defence Band".

This enhanced 3DZ model and skin was created by Ghostboy, based on the original 3DZ modifications by Serb.
