at Chelveston, February 1944. It's pilot 1st Lt. William R. Lawley Jr. was
awarded a Medal of Honour after returning the aircraft from a mission to
Leipzig on the 20th of February 1944.

model depicts "Ten Horsepower", a B-17 G-30-BO, S-N 42-31763, from the 351st
BG, 510th BS, based at Polebrook, 1944. Two of it's crew were posthumously
awarded Medals of Honour after this aircraft was lost on a mission to Leipzig
on the 20th of February 1944.

model depicts "Ruth Anne", a B-17 G-100-BO, S-N 43-38881, from the 457th BG,
750th BS, based at Glatton, 1944. This aircraft was piloted by Lt. John E.
Godwin on a mission to Dresden on 14th February 1945. It took some flak damage
over the target and made a forced landing on the continent, with all crew
returning safely. Due to the long range of the mission, eight other 457 BS
aircraft also landed on the continent to refuel.

September, 1942, and 'The Bearded Beauty' was one of the original B-17's
assigned to this group. This aircraft was lost on the first Schweinfurt /

This HR model depicts 'Aluminum Overcast', a B-17G from
the 601st BS, 398th BG, based at Nuthamstead, May-August 1944. The pilot was
Lt. Harold Weekly. This aircraft was lost to flak on it's 34th mission, 13th
August 1944. All the crew safely bailed out, two became POW's and the rest
returned to nearby allied forces with the aid of the resistance. This

This HR model depicts "Soubrette", a
P-47 D 6-RE Razorback, SN 42-74647, flown by Lt. Col. Wayne K Blickenstaff,
353rd FG, 350th FS, based as Raydon, February 1944. Credited with 10 kills.

This HR model depicts "Little Demon", a
P-47 D 5-RE Razorback, SN 42-8476, flown by Maj. Walter Carl Beckham, 353rd FG,
351st FS, based as Raydon, February 1944. On the 22nd February 1944 he was
forced to bail out after bing hit by flak over Ostheim, and was captured and
spent the remainder of the war as a POW. Beckham was one of the famous aces of
the 353rd downing 18 enemy aircraft, and at the time of his capture was the top
scorer in the ETO. This modified HR 3DZ model and skin were created by

This HR model depicts the
P-47D-25 'Spirit of Atlantic City N.J.', of the 63rd FS, 56th FG, flown by
Walker 'Bud' Mahurin, the first US double ace in Europe. He was forced to bail
out of this aircraft over France in March 1944. With the aid or the French
underground, he made his way back to England, but due to his knowledge of the
Underground, was never allowed to fly over Europe again. He ended the war as a
P-51 squadron commander, having achieved 21aerial victories in Europe and the
Pacific. He later scored another 3 1/2 victories flying the F-86 Sabre in

This HR model depicts the
P-47D-25 HV-A flown by Col. Francis S. 'Gabby' Gabreski, of the 61st FS, 56th
FG based at Boxted, 1944. Col. Gabreski commanded the 61st, and went on to
become the highest scoring US pilot in the ETO, with 28 confirmed airborne
kills and 6.5 on the ground. This, despite the fact that he spent 9 months as a
POW after he was forced to land in enemy territory when he plowed the ground
with his prop in July 1944. This modified HR 3DZ model and skin were created

This HR model depicts
'Pengie IV', the P-47 D 28-RE, Serial No.4419718, from the 61st FS, 56th FG,
based at Boxted and flown by Capt. Boleslaw 'Mike' Gladych. Gladych was a
polish pilot who flew for the RAF, but fell out of favour with High Command
after he mistakenly almost shot down the aircraft carrying Winston Churchill.
Francis Gabreski offered him a spot in the newly formed 56th FG, and there he
stayed until the end of the war, flying 5 different P-47 'Pengie's' and being
credited with 10 kills with the 56th, as well as 8 with No.302 and 303
Squadrons, RAF. This modified HR 3DZ model and skin were created by Chompy. Assistance was also given by Salty, DeanH and Col.

NORTH AMERICAN P-51 MUSTANG (HIGH RESOLUTION) |
|
This HR model depicts the
aircraft of Major George Preddy, P-51B 'Cripes A' Mighty 3rd' of the 352FG,
487FS, during the Normandy landings of June 6th 1944. Maj. Preddy was the top
scoring P51 pilot of WWII, with a total of 26.83 kills, 23.83 made in the
Mustang. Maj. Preddy lost his life due to friendly fire, when he was hit by an
American Quad .50 caliber A-A, at low level and crashed into the ground, on
Christmas Day, 1944. This modified HR 3DZ model and skin were created by
Chompy. Assistance was also given by
Salty and the canopy mod was created by
Mr. Johnson. The instruments were by
Migge and Cord
