Released in 1998 by Microprose and only supported by the developers with two patches and a paint-pack, the WWII-sim has become a legend through the big community that improved and enriched the simulation with countless modifications.

The basic program lets you fly the standard-planes for the Luftwaffe, RAF and USAAF for the time of the Battle of Britain 1940 and the fight over the Reich 1943-1945. Campaigns and Single Missions, plus a very interesting Multi-Player experience are available.

Although the look of the sim is not up to latest software-techniques, custom mods and artwork have improved the program, and over 100 fan-sites provide tons of stuff that lets you fly not only European Theatre of Operations, but European Winter, the African Desert and the Mediterranean, the Eastern Front and finally the Pacific, plus over 100 new aircraft and 3d-models plus skins for them.
