This model depicts the Douglas A-20A 'War Bond Special', flown by Lieutenant
Risden Lyons of the 89th Bomb Squadron, 3rd Attack Group, 5th Air Force, USAAF,
New Guinea 1942-43.This group was in action in the Pacific from May 1942 until
the end of the war.Durng the first year and a half, only enough A-20A and A-20C
models were available to equip this single squadron, the other unit squadrons
flying mainly B-25s. They flew first in the New Guinea area and later moved to
the Philippines when bases were secured there during the invasion to retake the
islands. It carried 6 .50 claliber machine guns in the nose and was used for
low level missions against airfields, shipping and other installations, both as
a strafer and bomber. This new aircraft High Resolution 3DZ model was created by Captain Kurt. The aircraft skin was created by DeanH. This model has a specific cockpit created by Captain Kurt. Utilities used during the construction of this model were the 3DZ Studio and 3DZ converter tools by Alessandro Borges. This model depicts the Douglas A-20B 'Lady Jean', a glass nosed medium altitude
bomber of the 47th Bomb Group, 12th Air Force, USAAF, shortly after they
arrived in North Africa in 1942 for tactical air support. The Group used the
A-20s at first for medium altitude and low level bombing missions, and later
when news of the successful gun nose conversions made by the 89th Squadron for
their Pacific theater A-20's reached them, converted a number of their A-20B's
to ground strafers. This new aircraft High Resolution 3DZ model was created by Captain Kurt. The aircraft skin was created by DeanH. This model has a specific cockpit created by Captain Kurt. This model depicts the Douglas A-20J 'Bill', which was Bill was an A-20J from
the 644th Bomb Squadron, 410th Bomb Group, 9th Air Force USAAF, named after the
young son of the pilot. The 410th BG flew medium altitude bombing missions
first from England and later from captured airfields in France after the
invasion. Most missions after the invasion were tactical to support Allied
armies advancing into occupied France. She was shot down by flak and made a
forced landing in liberated France in 1944. It is thought that the gunner was
either killed or seriously wounded in the incident. This new aircraft High Resolution 3DZ model was created by Captain Kurt. The aircraft skin was created by DeanH. This model depicts the Douglas A-20J 'Helen', which was A-20J from the 645th
Bomb Squadron, 410th Bomb Group, 9th Air Force USAAF in 1945. The 410th BG flew
medium altitude bombing missions first from England and later from captured
airfields in France after the invasion. Most missions after the invasion were
tactical to support Allied armies advancing into occupied France. By 1945,
German ground movement was done at night to elude the rover fighter bombers
that blanketed what was left of the western part of the Third Reich. The 410th
switched a number of their aircraft to night interdiction missions flown singly
instead of by formations of bombers. The planes carried flares, which they
would drop over highways, and then proceed to bomb any traffic they found. A
number of these planes were painted overall black in the field for these
missions - 'Helen' was one of these. This new aircraft High Resolution 3DZ model was created by Captain Kurt. The aircraft skin was created by DeanH. This model depicts the P-38H Lightning "Stingeree" of the 37th Fighter
Squadron, 14th Fighter Group, flown by Major William L. Leverette, Commanding
Gambut-2, Libya, 1943. Of his total of 11 victories, 7 were Junkers Ju-87
aircraft, all in one sortie on the 10/9/43. Whilst flying over the Aegean Sea
he spotted a large formation of Stukas attacking Royal Navy vessels, which were
bombarding the German and Italian garrisions on Rhodes. In the right place at
the right time. This new aircraft 3DZ model was created by Captain Kurt based on initial work carried out by Col. Gibbon. The aircraft skin was created by Captain Kurt and Redeyes'. This model has a non-mirrored medium distance view, adapted to the new PCX, a repainted cockpit and wing views specific to the skin. LOCKHEED P38G-13 LIGHTNING |
This model depicts the P38G-13, named "Miss Virginia", which was flown by Lt.
Rex Barber on the mission that intercepted and shot down Admiral Yamamoto.
Barber flew with the 339th Fighter Squadron, 347th Fighter Group, 13th Air
Force, based at Guadalcanal during April, 1943. This particular aircraft was
the regular mount of Lt. Bob Pelt, but was borrowed for this mission to replace
Barber's aircraft, which was unserviceable at the time. It is thought that
Barber was the pilot who actually shot down Yamamoto's Betty transport plane
during this mission. Barber scored 5 victories total. This new aircraft 3DZ model and skin was created by Captain Kurt based on initial work carried out by Col. Gibbon. This model has a non-mirrored medium distance view, adapted to the new PCX, a repainted cockpit and wing views specific to the skin. Dahl, 432nd Fighter Squadron, 475th Fighter Group, based at Dobodura, New

LOCKHEED P38H-5 LIGHTNING |
This model depicts the P38H-5, named "Regina Coeli", which was flown by Capt.
Joseph McKeon, 433nd Fighter Squadron, 475th Fighter Group, based at Dobodura,
New Guinea, during October 1943. Regina Coeli is Latin meaing "Queen of the
Sky". McKeon scored 4 victories over the Japanese in the Pacific, and later
made Ace with 1 victory against the Germans flying a P51D with the 20th FG in
Europe. Shortly thereafter he was involved in a mid-air collision over Germany
and spent the rest of the war as a POW. This new aircraft 3DZ model and skin was created by Captain Kurt based on initial work carried out by Col. Gibbon. This model has a non-mirrored medium distance view, adapted to the new PCX, a repainted cockpit and wing views specific to the skin. model depicts the North American B25B Mitchell 'Ruptured Duck', flown by Lt.
Ted Lawson on the Doolittle Tokyo Air Raid on April 18, 1942. Lt. Lawson
survived the mission and made it back to the USA where he wrote a book "30
Seconds Over Tokyo" recounting the mission. Hollywood duly made a movie of the

This model depicts a North American A-36A Apache dive bomber (Allison engined
Mustang bomber version) of the 27th FBG Pantelleria, Sicily and Italy during
June 1943 through 1944. This particular aircraft had 190 mission markers
running back along the fuselage. This aircraft model and skin was created by Captain Kurt based on the original 3DZ modifications created by Geo. The model has a modified nose shape, spinner, wing tips, oil cooler and rear deck shape. The aircraft also has been modified for the earlier Allison engine installation. The shadow file was by Cord and the middle distance model, with clear canopy and spinner, was by Claudio Wilches. NORTH AMERICAN P51A MUSTANG |
Updated with propellor view patch - This skin depicts a North American P51A
Allison engined Mustang of the 1st Air Commando Group, 10th AF, Burma. This
P51A represents the aircraft flown by Col. Philip Cochran, commander of the 1st
ACG. The 1st ACG operated in Burma from March 1944 to May 1945 supporting Major
General Orde Wingate's Burma offensive. They didn't have much air opposition to
give them a chance to run up big aerial scores, but they did get a number
destroyed on the ground. Cochran himself scored 2 victories in North Africa
before leaving there to take command in Burma. This aircraft model and skin was created by Captain Kurt based on the original 3DZ modifications created by Geo. The model has a modified nose shape, spinner, wing tips, oil cooler and rear deck shape. The aircraft also has been modified for the earlier Allison engine installation. NORTH AMERICAN P51B MUSTANG |
This skin depicts the North American P51B Mustang of Capt. Willard Millikan,
"Missouri Mauler", 336 FS, 4th FG, 8th AAF, based at Duxford, England, during
May 1944. Capt. Millikan was credited with 13 aircraft shot down. Records state
that on May 30, 1944, Capt. Millikan's Wingman collided with him after being
hit by flak. Both pilots bailed out to become POWs. Capt. Millikan later
escaped but not in time to return to operations.. This aircraft has a new NM skin and 3DZ model by Captain Kurt based on the original 3DZ modifications created by Geo. The shadow file was by Cord and the middle distance model, with clear canopy and spinner, was by Claudio Wilches. The original skin was created by Jeff "Salty" Salters. This skin depicts the North American P51B Mustang 'Short Fuse Sallee' of Capt.
Richard Turner of the 356th Fighter Squadron, 354th Fighter Group, 9th AF. This
particular aircraft represents a machine from the "Pioneer P51 Group". The P51
actually was delivered to the 354TH FG in the 9th Air Force, which was to be a
ground attack oriented force, rather than the 8th Air Force, which was to be
the bomber escort force in England. Therefore, the 354th flew with the 8th for
a number of months before the 8th fighter groups could equip and work up on the
Mustang. This aircraft has a new skin and 3DZ model by Captain Kurt based on the original 3DZ modifications created by Geo. The shadow file was by Cord and the middle distance model, with clear canopy and spinner, was by Claudio Wilches. Harbour. This aircraft was flown by 2nd Lt. Harry Brown, who was able to get

This skin depicts a Curtiss P40K of the 23rd FG, 76th FS in China, 1943. This
aircraft was flown by Major Grant Mahoney, who had 5 confirmed kills in P40's
plus 2 ground kills. He was killed in action on the 1/3/45 during his 3rd
