EAW Torch Scenario
apr 2005

INSTALLATION:

Similar to the 'Flying Tigers' campaign (see Tigers Readme file)

G'day everyone,

As with 'Flying Tigers' this is a reduced size game scenario
relying on the EAW game format with theme skins and a desert
terrain. It works best in single mission and quick start modes,
pilot career misbehaves quite a bit due to the absence of
some of the full install files.

So as not to make things too boring I 've included some later
series aircraft not around during operation Torch. With the
exception of the V1 all 29 slots have a torch occupant.

The terrain is a blend of Paul Wilson's desert with SagginB's
coastline, together with a variety of ground objects
from Moggy's Dunkirk masterpiece which places plenty of ships
and targets around the port areas.

You may find the odd ship up a dry river bed or in an oasis
somewhere and a factory in the middle of nowhere, but think
of these as an opportunity for target practice!

The plane skins reflect the drab paint jobs applied to British
and US Naval aircraft displaying the Torch roundels. These
roundels were applied particularly to the British planes to
have the Vichy French and the Germans believe that only
the US was invading North Africa in November 1942.

I will supply the Dispersal site with all aircraft skins
separately, for those who wish to create their own North
African Torch environment.

Thanks to Dean Hill for the use of his HR Me110G, D520,
Me262 and Ju88A4 models, Heinz Krebs for the header
and mainscreen painting "Desert Sharks", Mike Norris for
his hard work and to everybody else whose prior blood,
sweat and tears I've included.

---------------------------------------

Have chosen the US/British - Vichy/German version,
with a mix of a D520, Hawk 75, Potez 63,and an
assortment of German planes,109k, Ju88A and C,
He111, Stuka,190A and D,110G, a 410 and a 262.

For the US/British I've included a Sea Hurri, 2 Spitfires,
a Seafire, a Defiant, Tempest II, Mosquito, Marauder,
Invader, P40K and E,P38, Short Sunderland, P51B and D,
SBD 3, and a Wildcat/Hellcat.

I've supplied a Frontpage plane layout and mainscreen with
the scenario as with Flying Tigers, but have opted
not to alter the plane menus this time, as I felt this dated
things a bit when slot swapping planes around later.
