Steve T's Fiat G.50 "Freccia" of the XXIII Grupo de Caza, Aviacion Legionaria, Spanish Civil War.

Between 12 and 40 of this type flew with the Aviacion Legionaria during the later stages of the war. The first flight took place in March 1939, the G.50 being sent to Spain to demonstrate Italin technology, as a counterpoint ot the Bf109. In the last two weeks of the war, 3 G.50s crashed due to manufacturing faults.

In a effort ot get a "quick fix" for the single missions in the forthcoming Spanish Air War, I've added a glazed canopy to Captain Kurt's excellent G.50bis 3DZ model to get the earlier G.50, and adapted Patrick Grand-Chavin's Finnish skin to one from the Spanish Civil War. I've also modified the tail wheel.

For total accuracy, this model needs a new spinner (one with an exposed hub).

This zip also includes a virtual cockpit for the G.50bis by Claudio Wilches -- just imagine you are flying with the canopy open (as was often the case, given the G.50's poor reliability).
