Mosquito FB Mk.XVIII, serial NT225, No.248 Squadron, June 1944, Banff, Scotland. The plane was lost on 7th December 1944.

Here is some info about NT225 by RedEyes:

'According to Mosquito Bomber/Fighter-Bomber Units 1942-45, Osprey Combat Aircraft series, that particular plane flew out of Banff, Scotland (part of the famous Banff Fighter Wing). It was built as a Mk VI in early 1944 and then converted into a Mk XVIII prior to delivery to 248 Squadron. It was one of two "Tsetses" that was lost on December 7, 1944. Some 21 Mosquitoes and 40 Beaufighters, escorted by 12 Mustangs, had set out to attack a convoy in Aalesund harbor, but as landfall was made as briefed, Squadron Leader Barnes led them further up the coast towards Gossen airfield, whereupon they were jumped by about 25 Fw 190s and Bf 109Gs - Mustangs shot down four fighters and two more collided. The two "Tsetses"
were flown by Bill Cosman and K.C. Wing. "Tsetse" Mosquitoes had a 57 mm Molins automatic weapon installed in the nose of the aircraft in place of the standard quartet of 20 mm cannon. They were primarily intended for use against U-Boats.'

Thanks!

*** Updated with Stag & JWC's new corrected wing - it now looks like as it should! Stag did the new shape and JWC fixed the frame of the triangular window on the canopy and removed the warping ***

I did it primarily as "unflyable", so no wingviews etc. - if you want flyable Mosquitos,
Serb ( http://serbs.free.fr ) offers very interesting ones in his "Variant Series" section, or get some of
RedEyes' ( http://public.webbox.com/index.asp?p=mjlask@ameritech.net&ls=1 ) Snapshots.

Hope you like it.
