Euro-Seasons "Summer" v1.0 - European Air War Terrain mod by sagginb

Install:

There are a couple of ways you can setup/install any EAW terrain after one downloads and groups all files together.
The normal or "default" EAW terrain uses a 256 X 256 tile at close range (the Bn***.ter files) and switches to a 128 x 128 tile for distant views (the Lr***.ter files).
This was built to run EAW better so as not to have to read higher resolutions in the distance which can cause stutters or blinking types of problems.
So you have to decide if your PC can or should handle the higher resolution or not.

High-Res setup:

If you want a the set of High-Res tiles there are a couple easy steps to get going.
1st download all the files but the "Low-Res tile folder" from the Host site/Sagginb's page.
IF you do download those files you can always save or just delete them because they will "not" be needed for this setup.
The same can be said for the "make_bn.bat" file as well.
You should be left with 59 "Lr***.ter" files, they are already set for 256 x256 High-Res.
All you will need to do is copy these 59 "Lr***.ter" files into your European Air War directory (the one with your eaw.exe file) and run the game.
At the main screen go to the "Configure Game" section and then select the "Graphics" option.
Now make sure the "Terrain Detail" is set to "Medium".
Note: This was an option which would read only the Lower-Res 128 x 128 tiles (Lr***.ter) at all distances thus run the game better on slower PC's.
What we have done is just rename the Higher-Res tileS to (Lr***.ter) and EAW will only run those single 256 x 256 tiles in the game.

This is nice for a couple of reasons:
 1. It saves space, why have copys of both Bn***.ter and Lr***.ter tiles that are in fact the same thing...double the files for no reason!
 2. You wont have the switch between "Bn" and "Lr" tiles in the game...this should also help with the look of your terrain when only one tiles is being used for all distance.
You might have "Medium" set but you are getting the best possible look for terrain so don't let that setting scare you. ;-)

Now Just run the game and the terrain should work!

Default or Normal EAW setup:

You may like (or need) the original tile setup of using High-Res tiles while terrain is close to your view while the distant view of the terrain uses a Lower-Res tile.
This is also possible with this Euro-Blend terrain.
1st download and group "all" files from the Host site/sagginb's page.
You should have 59 "Lr***.ter" files, a folder called "Low-Res tiles" (with 59 more Lr***.ter tiles inside) and a "make_bn.bat" file.

Step 1: Run the "make_bn.bat"...this should give you an additional 59 files called "Bn***.ter".
Step 2: Delete all 59 "Lr***.ter" files and the make-bn.bat...you are done with those files.
Step 3: Go into the folder called "Low-Res tiles" and copy (or cut) all 59 "Lr***.ter" files and paste them with the new Bn***.ter files you just created with the "make_bn.bat" in Step 1.
Note: You should now have 59 Bn***.ter files and 59 Lr***.ter files.
This is your High "Bn" and Low "Lr" set of terrain tiles...118 files in all.

All you will need to do now is copy these 118 files into your European Air War directory (the one with your eaw.exe file) and run the game and the terrain should work!
