Hurricane MkI V6555 of No. 257 Sqn as flown by Sqn Ldr R. S. Tuck from North Weald in October 1940.

Tuck was assigned this aircraft short after his arrival at Martlesham Heath where he took charge of No. 257th sqn. In order to raise the morale of his new command, he had his groundcrew decorate the fighter with a scoreboard denoting his combat successes, and this was fastidiously kept up to date as Tuck claimed a further four kills by the end of the battle. He also had a cigar chewing, stick waving Churchill caricature added to the port side of the fuselage beneath the ever increasing row of swastikas.
