Steve T's Republican Fokker DXXI of the Spanish Civil War, Version 1.0

A modern, fixed-undercarriage monoplane fighter that was still in service with the French and Dutch airforces in 1940. In Spain production began under license by the Republicans in 1937, utilising the same Russian M 25 engine used in the Polikarpov I-16, but the factory was overrun before most of the 25-50 planes on the assembly lines could be finished. However A pattern example was flown in Spain, and a second is reported to have flown with a Soviet M25 engine. The colour scheme is based on that of the pattern aicraft.

*Details of this Version*

Modified from the original 3DZ of Woolfman and Charles Gunst; base skin Woolfman's Dutch skin for AITW 40 -- thanks guys. Please note, this aircraft requires a lot of runway to get airborne!

To have a fairly accurate representation of an aircraft known to have flown in Spain during the civil war, I've done the following :

--painted a new skin and remapped some of the texture

--unmirrored the codes

--remapped the textures on the torn-off wings

--added new textures to the virtual and outside props

--provided new wing-views for the virtual cockpit

--added a black shadow (*h.3dz now uses *h.tpc)

--attempted to fix some of the texture warping on the tail fin

Of course, there is much that could be done to improve this model, including the addition of a "telescope" type gunsight (in the cockpit and outside), plus the various struts and wires on the tailplane but I haven't got the time to do this.

Note: to insure the correct instrument display in the virtual cockpit, rename the Hurricane virtual cockpit DAT file to vcg_P51d.dat and the corresponding 2D cockpit from P091* to P051view.cpt. These files are not included here due to their size.
