Yak 9t, CG III - Normandie-Niemen. 
Pilot : Ren CHALLE
8 Air Kills.


Ren Challe had his first air kill in May 1940 with the GC III/7 but was severely injured in the same mission.
He joined Normandie in February 1944 with his brother Maurice, and took the command of the the 4th Flight of Normandie.
Ren Challe was credited with 8 confirmed air kills (+ 1 probable) before receiving his second severe injury in January 1945. 

GCIII Normandie 
This GC (Groupe de Chasse) nIII was made of Free French Pilots, all volunteers to fight alongside the Red Army from 1943 to 1945
It is the first French fighter unit with 273 air kills in 5240 missions and 869 fights.
