This is a Korean War US Navy Chance-Vought Corsair F4U-4C of VF-53, Air Group 5, USS Essex CV-9, December 1951. It is for the P51-D slot in EAW.

This Squadron, along with Skyraiders of VF-54, took part in the famous raid on the "Bridges at Toko-Ri" (actually at Majonne), on 12 December 1951.

Jamie Richards did the original skin, whilst the 3D wireframe and it's 3dz files have been skilfully modified by Woolfman and -E to make the canopy and propellor transparent (Woolfman) and to make the wing insignias non-mirroring (-E). The ordnance hardpoints have been fixed by Charles, who recently added the tailhook also.

UPDATE! As at 17/10/02, JWC has	produced an authentic F4U-5 cockpit, based on the work of Lobo 78th. It comes complete with a new wingview. Thanks very much guys, this was one area were the Corsair was really lacking!

So thanks to Jamie, Woolfman, -E, Charles, JWC and Lobo 78th for all your hard work!
