Me 109K-4 (Bodenplatte and Earlier)

Piloted by Uffz. Heinrich Minninger in 9/JG77 in late 1944 early 1945, this AC was involved in Operation Bodenplatte.

- When "white 17", W.Nr.330230 was pictured it was in November 44 at Neuruppen during unit conversion to the K-4. Indeed when it was lost during the Bodenplatte mission it was flown by Uffz. Heinrich Munninger from 10./JG77 and actually had the white/Green fuselage bands that were added in December44 and then pretty quickly removed in January 45 when the unit turned back to the East front. (Note that JG6 did exactly the same). Unfortunately after his attack over Deurne airfield, Uffz. Munninger was shot down in flames and killed by U.S. anti-aircraft fire (494th AAA BN.) north-east of Antwerpen on this, the 1st of January 45.

Note: from photo proof, Bf 109K "white12" and "white 13" had the white/green fuselage bands during Bodenplatte mission.

Thanks go to Olivier 'Doc' Menu for his research and verification of this skin, it's colours and markings.
Thanks also, to Col.Gibbon for the great 3DZ work he put into making this bird, and to Moggy for his efforts in helping sort out the RS issues etc.

Made to fly in the 109k slot, I cannot say what will happen if you try to slot it in somewhere else.

NB: In the main zip, there is another titled JG77Early.zip, this contains the fuselage and nose section for an AC BEFORE Operation Bodenplatte. It therefore has NO Reich Defence bands, and DOES have the unit insignia on the nose.
Either replace the 3 files with these, or else make a second install and add these to it, overwriting the originals.
