High Resolution P-47 C/D Razorback for European Air War by Microprose.

This skin represents "Penrod and Sam", a P-47 D-21, SN 42-25512, flown by Cpt. Robert S. Johnson, 56th FG, 62nd FS, based as Boxted, England in May 1944. This Pre-invasion Thunderbolt is in the classic NMF with a nose to windscreen anti glare strip in OD. It has the standard yellow rudder of the 62nd squadron and the red cowling of the 56th FG.
Prior to the arrival of this Jug, all of Captain Johnson's P47's had been named "Lucky" but with the arrival of this D-21 model in early 1944 he changed the name to Penrod and Sam, - Johnson's middle name was Samuel, and his crewchief's name was J.C.Penrod.
Robert Samuel Johnson was credited with 27 victories flying with the 56th.
