German Ranks for Officer Careers by Andy
================================

with these files the german ranks are altered to:

Fhnrich
Oberfhnrich
Leutnant
Oberleutnant
Hauptmann
Major
Oberstleutnant

Although not quite usual, some guys choose this quick way to become a commissioned officier in the Luftwaffe (you had to have the money and an higher education to go this way). Most famous 'Fhnrich' in the Luftwaffe was Hans-Joachim Marseille. He started his active pilot duty with JG 52 just after being promoted to Oberfhnrich in 1940.

The rank ladder for such a career looks like this (pilots hardly were assigned to active pilot duty at ranks below Fhnrich):

Flieger OA
Gefreiter OA (private, officer candidate)
Fahnenjunker (corporal, officier candidate)
Fhnrich (warrant officier)
Oberfhnrich (warrant officier 1st class)
Leutnant
.
.
.

To install these ranks, simply copy the two .str files to your EAW directory.

BTW: The '' is pronounced similar the the english 'a'. ;o)

Have fun,
Andy
