Me 262B-1a/U1 (W.Nr. 110305) 'Red 8' of 10./NJG 11, Schleswig-Jagel, May 1945.

Version 1.0 (April, 2001)

*Skin, cockpit and 3dz modification by Serb
*Revi 16B Gunsight by PapaRomeo

Probably only four Me 262 B-1a/U1's saw operational service with 10./NGJ 11, namely 'Red 8', 'Red 9', 'Red 10' and 'Red 12'. They are reported to have flown up to five sorties, during which three Mosquitos were claimed destroyed. 'Red 8' was captured by British forces at Schleswig, but was retained by the RAF, receiving the markings 'Air Min.50'. It was ferried to Gilze-Rijen on 18 May 1945 by W/Cmdr. 'Roly' Falk, and to the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough on 19 May 1945. It was flown by the Fighter Interception Development Squadron of the CFE at Ford, but was slightly damaged when it overshot the runway on landing. 'Red 8' was shiped to South Africa on 17 March 1947 and is currently on display at the South African National War Museum at Saxonwold, Johannesburg.

**Instructions**
Unzip the files, then drag and drop all *.tpc, *.3dz and *.spt files into your European Air War directory. To return to the default skin, move the same files out of the EAW directory.

**The Cockpit**
The new cockpit files (P262av.tpc, P262ax.tpc and P262ax.3dz) were created by Serb, and are optional, although highly recommended.

**Thanks**
Thanks to Paulo Morais and Christian Mosimann for their incredible work with the original B-1a/U1 model, and to PapaRomeo for permission to include his great Revi 16B gunsight.

**ECAPanel and STAB**
If using ECA Control Panel (Version 3.4), Charles Gunst's flight model switching utility, please set the flight model to the B-1a/U1. If using STAB, Matt Thompson-Moltzen's skin and terrain switching utility, please select P262atex.tpc when loading for the first time. Also, be sure to configure STAB to load Bombs.tpc, as this file contains the dark drop tanks for the 262B-1a/U1.
