This represents the P51D Mustang, "Big Beautiful Doll", of Colonel John Landers, O.C. 78th FG, during May 1945. Col. Landers was one of a handful of pilots who scored victories in both the Pacific and European theaters. "Big Beautiful Doll" was the sobriquet applied to a series of P38 Lightnings and P51 Mustangs, flown by Col. Landers. He is credited with the destruction of 14.5 aircraft in air to air combat, with a further 20 aircraft destroyed on the ground.

3D Model: Chompy
Skin: Salty

This high resolution 3d model represents many hours of effort and has been a labor of love. Please respect the time and effort that has gone into this creation. The model is freeware and is for the use of the EAW community. All that is asked of the community is to acknowledge the authors and give credit for the original 3d model and skin. It is yours to enjoy and to modify, It is hoped that this will spure others to further refine not only this great aircraft, but many others for the benefit of the EAW community.

After 6 months in the making, Chompy and I, are proud to be able to bring you the High Resolution P-51 D Mustang. The new 3dz set uses 6 3dz's and 6 pcx files for the main shape, plus cockpits, transperancies and wingview which makes 12 pcx files and 17 3dz's to edit. This aircraft is completely non mirrored with the equivalent of 512 x 512 textures. Using multi 3dz's has allowed the use of extra points and sub-elements to fix a few things that needed attention.

The following list summarizes the use and connection of each 3dz file:
Pp51dA.3dz - 3dz file for the left rear fuselage and tail.
Pp51dB.3dz - 3dz file for the right rear fuselage and tail.
Pp51dC.3dz - 3dz file for the cockpit.
Pp51dE.3dz - 3dz file for the right wing.
Pp51dF.3dz - 3dz file for the front fuselage, left and right.
Pp51dG.3dz - 3dz file for the left wing.
Pp51dH.3dz - 3dz file for the "Gunst type" transperant shadow.
Pp51dL.3dz - 3dz file for the left Torn Off Wing.
Pp51dM.3dz - 3dz file for the Medium Distance Model (actually the old Pp51df.3dz)
