First, the music must be in a wave file format. Any number of downloadable programs can be found that will convert most of the files available here from Mp3 to a Wave file format. The one I use most often is called ACMStation and you can download it from this web site.

Converting your desired music file to wave form alone is not enough for the Barracks radio. Even with the right name, it will not play if the properties are not right. For the Barracks Radio, they have to be Microsoft ADPDM, 11,025khz, 4 bit, mono.

Don't let yourself be daunted by this task; the following steps make it relatively easy.

1) Utilizing the Sound Recorder program that comes with Windows, click on File then click on Open. In the window that comes up, go through your folders until you find the wave file that you wish to convert. Highlight that file and click on Open .

2) Clicking on File again, now click on Properties. You will see a button labeled Convert Now, click on that.

3) Utilizing the options that come up, change the format to Microsoft ADPCM, and the attributes to 11,025khz, 4 bit, mono.

4) Click on the OK button.

5) Click on the OK button again. You should now be back to the original Sound Recorder window. Your wave file is now in the desired format.

6) Last but not least, do not forget to click on File and save your converted wave file.

Converting the wave file to adp format . . .

7) Make sure the converted wave file is in a directory, not on the desktop. Select the View pulldown menu from the folders menu bar.

8) Select Folder Options from the View pull-down menu.

9) Click on the View tab in the Options dialog.

10) Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known file types box.

11) Click on the OK button and then rename the converted file to whatever applies; Aradio1m.adp, Aradio2m.adp, Bradio1m.adp, Bradio2m.adp, Gradio1m.adp, or Gradio2m.adp.

12) Drop this file into your main European Air War folder and you're set to go.
