"France 1940" : A 1940 French Campaign patch for European Air War
For use with my other EAW utilities, ECA Control Panel v3.1 and ECA v1.4

The eight files in this zip file:
FRANCE 40.TXT (this file)
MISN40.DAT
CAMPGR40.DAT
CAMPUK40.DAT
SQDESCUK.STR
SQNAMEUK.STR
SQGR40.DAT
SQUK40.DAT
provide a rough approximation of a 1940 French campaign and single missions for both the Luftwaffe and Armee de l'Air. ECA Control Panel v3.1 is required to use this patch.

To install "France 1940", take the following steps:

1.Copy the eight files to your EAW directory (the one with EAW.EXE in it).

2. Use ECA Control Panel v3.1 to select the French 1940 aircraft. Do this by using "Global Changes"/"French (1940) Aircraft", or by individually selecting the various aircraft options as follows:

Hurricane:	Morane MS.406
Spitfire I:	Dewoitine D.520
Spitfire IX:	Caudron C.714
Spitfire XIV:	Bloch MB-155
Typhoon:	Curtiss Hawk 75A
Tempest:	Bloch MB-152
Mosquito:	Potez 631 (or Potez 630)
P38J: Fokker G-1 Mercury
B26: Amiot 354 B4
Fw 190A:	Macchi C.200
Ju 88A: Ju88A (or Do17Z)

3. Copy to your EAW directory the skins for the appropriate aircraft. This patch is optimized for the great French aircraft skins created by Dominique Legrand and Jean Pigeon, which should be available from some or all of the the websites listed below.

3. Start a new campaign for either the Luftwaffe or R.A.F. (Armee de l'Air). All of the appropriate 1940 aircraft should show up in missions from time to time. There will be greater variety in campaign missions than in the standard EAW 1940 campaigns, including sweeps for the Armee de l'Air, and bombing, interception and interdiction missions for the Luftwaffe.

4. Note that the airbases and map have not been changed. If someone can work out how to edit the map, it would be a great advance. Some of the French aircraft have some non-historical ordnance loads (such as rockets) - purists may ignore these. Otherwise, and apart from the map and airbase names, the aircraft and the campaign work fairly well.

5. You can use the ECA Control Panel Squadron Editor to assign any other available aircraft to your squadron after flying any mission, in the usual way. Note that if you do not have ECA installed, assigning one of the previously non-flyable EAW aircraft to your squadron will cause EAW to crash to the desktop when you try to fly a mission.

5. To un-install this patch, simply delete the eight files from your EAW directory. Note that if you had ECA v1.4 installed these files will have overwritten the corresponding ECA ones, and you will have to re-install the ECA versions of the seven *.DAT and *.STR files set out in the list above when you have finished flying in France 1940.

6. If you do not have ECA v1.4 or ECA Control Panel v3.1, they are available from:
