Jeam Marie Maridor joined the Arme de l'Air in august 1939 and was admited to receive a fighter instruction. Before the end of his instruction, his fighter school was moved to La Rochelle because of the German offensive. Maridor then decided to reach England where he joined the Free French Air Forces in June 1940.

Maridor was assigned to N 615 Squadron in August 1941 and shot down his first German plane in October of the same year.
In February 1942, he got his assignment for the N 91 Squadron where he showed his exceptional courage, scoring 3 more kills (each time Fw-190), but receiving 3 injuries.
In January 1944, Maridor, promoted Captain, was sent to N61 OTU to serve as an instructor, and to recover from physical and nervous exhaustion. He was back in his unit in March 1944, his squadron was then specialized in V-1 hunting.

Jeam Marie Maridor shot down 11 V-1. In august, trying to intercept a V-1 diving on an Hospital, Maridor got so close from his target that he was killed by the explosion of the V-1.
