Yak-1b of the 156th Guards IAP

Underpowered and poorly armed, the Yak-1 equipped many VVS Squadrons during the 1941-1943 period. Although not a particularly successful aircraft against the Luftwaffe machines of that era, it was the forerunner to the formidable Yak-3 and Yak-9. This particular aircraft is the mount of Colonel K.Y. Nazzarevitch, a 12 victory ace and deputy C.O of the 156th Guards IAP, whose badge is painted on the cowling.

This skin utilises modified 3dz files for the P-51B slot by Tailspin. Wingview files, using Claudio's Yak cockpit, are included.
