P-47D - 509th FS, 405th FG, USAAF.

Many USAAF Squadrons operated the P-47D in a fighter-bomber role from 1944 onwards, as the P-47, commonly known as the "Jug" had a exceptional ability to absorb battle damage and bring the pilot home safely, which was particularly important in a ground attack role where the aircraft was exposed to heavy flak whilst making it's attack run. This particular aircraft entitled "Balls Out", flown by Lt. Thompson of the 509th FS, 405th FG, bears one of the most aggressive examples of nose out to be found on any aircraft during the war.

The transparency file has been modified and is included in the zip. Contains Geo's prop spinner fix and Serb's antenna 3dz.
