A6M2 Model 21 Rei-Sen "Zero" - Akagi Carrier Group.

The A6M2 "Zero" was the standard fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy throughout much of WW2. The Zero had a high power-to-weight ratio as a result of it's light structure, which also aided in it's exceptional manouverability and range. It was, however, extremely vunerable to enemy fire. This particular aircraft was part of the Akagi air wing, and quite possibly took wart in the Battle of Midway in June of 1942. During this engagement, the IJN lost four Aircraft Carriers, including the Akagi, Kaga, Soryu and Hiryu.
